The first project of the facelift to 2013 Spada. Taillight Replacement.

30 Jan 2021

It replaces the taillights of the 2009 Step WGN to the taillights of the 2013 Spada. The 2009 model feels a little old with halogen bulbs. However, the 2013 model is now a popular LED.

Let's check the difference between the taillights of the 2009 and the 2013 Spada.

First is the surface. The bottom is for 2009 and the top is for 2013 Spada. The 2009 is a red color, while the 2013 Spada is a clear color.

Next is the back. The bottom is for 2009 and the top is for 2013 Spada. The shape of whole is a different, but the mounting point is same shape, so no processing is required. However, the number of connectors is different. For 2009, there are four connectors: tail lamp, brake lamp, back lamp, and turn signal lamp. On the other hand, for 2013 Spada, there are only three lamps: tail lamp + brake lamp, back lamp, and turn signal lamp. But, the tail lamp + brake lamp connector is the same as the 2009 brake lamp connector. In other words, the 2009 tail lamp connector is not used in the 2013 Spada.

Now, let's install the taillight.

First, remove the taillight for 2009. It is fixed with two screws and two clips. Remove the two screws. You can then remove it by lifting the taillight to outside of the body.

This wire is for taillights. This wire is not used for installation for 2013 Spada. For waterproofing, protect the connector from water with vinyl tape.

Finally, connect the connector and fix it to the body, and you're done. Itfs easy!
