1Cited from Toyota
The JPN TAXI has undergone some improvements.

The "JPN TAXI," introduced in 2017, replaced the previous "Crown Comfort" as Toyota's model for taxi use. It adopted a taller body shape different from the previous four-door sedan design, and by incorporating sliding rear doors, greatly improved ease of boarding and exiting as well as interior space. Equipped with a slope, it became the first Toyota vehicle to meet the requirements set by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for a "Universal Design Taxi," allowing passengers to board while in a wheelchair.

In the partial upgrade of the JPN TAXI, a focus was placed on pursuing "ease of use" that meets current demands. The interior was redesigned with materials and shapes that are easy to clean, and areas that are frequently touched are equipped with antibacterial properties for cleanliness. Additionally, seats and grips were added to assist wheelchair users.

Moreover, the LPG-hybrid system with excellent environmental performance now includes a power supply function that allows electrical appliances to be used even in emergencies such as power outages.

Regarding the exterior of the JPN TAXI, there have been no changes from the previous tall wagon-type design. The lineup consists of two grades: the standard-grade "Nagomi" and the higher-grade "Takumi."

The JPN TAXI's powertrain adopts a hybrid system based on a small and lightweight design, ensuring durability and compatibility with LPG fuel for taxi use. This powertrain contributes significantly to reducing running costs through excellent fuel efficiency.

For safety features, the JPN TAXI adopts the Toyota Safety Sense, utilizing a detection sensor combining laser radar and monocular cameras for integrated control to support accident avoidance and collision damage mitigation. Other features include a pre-crash safety system with pedestrian (daytime) detection, as well as a lane departure alert that warns the driver with a buzzer and display if there is a possibility of the vehicle deviating from the lane without signaling.

As a taxi that is easy to use and friendly to everyone, the JPN TAXI (Japan Taxi) will continue to evolve for the better
